Development tool for G.N.S.S. Applications
Thanks to the electromagnetic waves propagating between transmitters and a receiver, we can communicate using our mobile
phone, or position us wherever on earth using a GNSS receiver(GPS receiver...). However, constrained environments (for example in urban cayons)
in which we evolve every day prevent from getting a accurate location. Indeed, shadowing effects can be strong and the avalilibility
of the system is degraded. Moreover, interactions with the environment create multipaths : reflexions, transmissions, diffractions...
and introduce errors.
The software ergospace®, developed by the company Ergospace, simulates the propagation of electromagnetic signals
in constrained environments. It uses the Ray Tracing method to deterministically calculate direct paths as well as multipaths between
transmitters and a receiver. ergospace® is thus the first software that describes and analyzes precisely performances of
a telecommunication system or a satellite navigation system. It is a powerful simulation tool that can replace long-term and expensive
measurement campaigns.
